Materials & Fabrics
At Evangeline-May, Our vintage pieces are made and produced from companies that our team believe are fully viable to meet our dress production quality standards. As we are a resale brand, you can count on us to find the highest quality products for the cheapest price. Our team have estimated the main sources of fabrics used to create our products are; different kinds of cotton, ribbons and lace nettings, meshes, silks and organic/polyester. We cannot provide a sum of the percentage for the, nettings, meshes, silks and lace. However, if you fall in love with one of our peices and are dying to know the full material percentages - the product you love may still have this information available. Don't be afraid to contact us!
Condition Standard Detials
“New with tags”
is a product that has been unworn and still has the original brand/sellers tag attached. This doesn’t count our Evangeline May custom tag as it is included on all items.
“New without tags”
is describing the condition of a product that is unworn or a resale item we have obtained from a stock house or via resale with 0 signs of wear or tear.
“Very good”
condition is a product that has been preloved. When we use this category to describe an items condition to our team while paying full attention of the products hygiene. This includes each individually being analysed and declaring the product has no faults after being cleansed: it has just been preloved. We do not sell products that are under this standard.
Measurements
Night Dress Details
at Evangeline-May gathering accurate measurements can be quite a challenge- especially when handling night dresses. This is because we cannot measure cup sizes with an average measuring tape and we also do not have access to measuring bodices/mannequins in all the different ranges of sizes. Though we tend to rely on the sizing is given on each individuals product's ORIGNAL tag.
(Example: "Victoria's Secret U.K 10 - 34B")
This is majority where we gather our Size Recommendation's information from. However, we do measure out our dresses length, bottom width and the under chest proportions to make sure sizes align. All measurements are described and shown in details in the sections bellow.

Waist Measurement Chart

Find your best fit with Evangeline-May
Purchasing vintage clothing can be difficult when trying to find your size. As we are a small business, we don't yet have the funding to be able to gather mannequins to measure waist sizing that most are used to. Though with all your support this will hopefully be coming soon!
We take so much time measuring out each vintage piece due to many reasons, such as; the year a dresses was made & what some brands consider an "xs" fitting a "s/m"
As a result we have created an estimated fit chart based on the waist measurement
How we measure

Length
We measure the majority of our pieces using it's length. We always measure from the highest strap/piece of fabric to the longest end. Some items have mentioned "Adjustable straps" as this often alters the length of particular products. Items that do not have a given length measurement will likely be fully adjustable to all lengths or specified otherwise.

Chest Measurements
at Evangeline may we do not currently have the resources to be able to give a specific chest measurement to all our dresses as most of them are vintage and have inconsistent cup sizes. However we use the bellow chest measurement as an alternative. Few of our products are designed with adjustable latches at the back of the dress to create a tighter/looser fit.
Please keep in mind we find all our items "Below chest" measurements using the smallest latch.
Flat - Waist Measurements
This measurement is typically used for skirts and bottoms. We measure our skirts semi-differently to how they may appear in usual measurements as we measure every pieces width from left to right lead down on a surface. With skirts, over half of of our collection have an adjustable waistline, so we often tell our customers to not worry when it may comes to being highly specific.
Though we have a very small handful of our tops/dresses can a waist measurement. This is because the product photography may look inaccurate to how the product itself looks when being worn.

Hem Width
Often a rare measurement as our skirts have quite the flowing fit we gain the hem width by measuring the width of the bottom of a garment.
